1.2   Description of the woodland in the landscape

Situated just over a mile inland from Southampton Water at a height of 25m above sea level, on gently sloping ground with a south-eastern aspect, Priors Hill Copse is the north-western part of a larger wooded area including Hound Grove, totalling 14.5ha. This forms a north-eastern back-drop to Butlocks Heath (called Butlocks Common on maps of 1725 and 1870).

The plan must be reviewed every five years.

As owner, tenant or manager, you have the right to manage the wood in accordance with this plan.

At least a summary of the management plan must be made publicly available on request.
